This Privacy Policy describes how Notcha ("we", "our", or "us"), operated by AI OR DIE PTE. LTD., collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our macOS application and website at notcha.ordie.ai. Notcha is designed with privacy in mind — we collect the minimum information necessary to provide the service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Email address — required for purchasing Notcha and restoring access across devices.
- Support messages — when you contact us through the support form, we receive your name, email, and message content.
- Payment information — processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
Information processed locally on your device
- Script and image content — any files you open in Notcha are read from your device and displayed locally. They are never uploaded to our servers.
- Microphone input — used in Voice Tracking mode for speech recognition. Audio is processed on-device using Apple's Speech framework and is not transmitted to us.
- AI API keys — if you choose to enable AI Mode with OpenAI or Anthropic, your API key is stored in your macOS Keychain. We never receive or store it.
Information processed by third parties (at your request)
- AI Mode queries — when you use AI Mode, your messages are sent directly from your device to the AI provider you selected (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Apple Foundation Models). Your queries are governed by that provider's privacy policy. On-device Apple Foundation Models process requests entirely on your Mac.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To process your purchase and grant access to Notcha Pro features.
- To verify your purchase when you restore access from a new device (via a one-time email verification code).
- To respond to your support requests.
- To send transactional emails (purchase confirmation, restore codes).
We do not send marketing emails, sell your data, or use your information for advertising.
3. Service Providers
We use the following third-party services to operate Notcha:
- Stripe — processes payments and stores your customer record. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Supabase — stores your email and purchase status in our database. Hosted in ap-southeast-1.
- Resend — delivers transactional emails (restore codes, support replies). See Resend's Privacy Policy.
- Linode (Akamai) — hosts our website.
4. Data Retention
We retain your purchase record indefinitely to validate access to Pro features and to process refunds if needed. Support messages are retained for customer service history. Restore verification codes expire after 10 minutes and are deleted periodically.
5. Your Rights
You can request at any time to:
- Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your account and associated data (note: this will also remove your ability to restore Pro access).
- Export your data.
To make any of these requests, please reach out via our support form.
6. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data: HTTPS for all traffic, encrypted database storage via Supabase, and Apple's Keychain for any API keys stored on your device. Payment details are handled by Stripe under PCI-DSS compliance.
7. Children's Privacy
Notcha is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced through the app or via email.
